Fireboy & Watergirl 2: In The Light Temple
Free browser game on PlayBreak — no download
Light Temple is a coordination puzzle with two characters. It suits two people sharing a keyboard, or one player who enjoys switching attention between two positions. Progress depends on making a route safe for both characters, not simply moving the nearest one toward an exit.
This time, Fireboy and Watergirl (made by Oslo Albet), are exploring the Light Temple. Use the temple light to reach the exit safely. Switch between Fireboy & Watergirl, but be careful, Fireboy cannot touch water and Watergirl cannot touch fire.
How to play
Move with WASD and the arrow keys. On mobile you can change controls in the options menu.
Divide the controls
The listed controls use WASD and the arrow keys. Before attempting a puzzle together, agree who operates each character. Test the controls on safe ground and make sure both sets respond; some keyboards struggle with particular combinations of simultaneous key presses.
Read the room before moving
Locate the exits and identify where each character can safely travel. Fireboy cannot touch water and Watergirl cannot touch fire. Work out which character needs to move first to open a route for the other. The light-based puzzles make the order of actions part of the challenge.
Avoid the shared-keyboard rush
If a section is going wrong, stop one character in a safe position while the other moves. Two people giving inputs at once can make it harder to spot which action changed the puzzle. Say your next move aloud, then check whether it helped before continuing.
Solo or together?
Playing alone gives you direct control over the sequence, but splits your attention. Playing with a friend makes simultaneous movement easier, while requiring communication. Choose Chess instead if you want a two-player game with alternating turns rather than real-time cooperation.
